In the world today
It almost seems
As though the sun has moved away.
Death and tragedy
Cruelty and fear
What kind of world
Will my children know?
Kindness and compassion
Love and caring
Watching out for those
Who may need a hand up
These are the lessons we try to teach
To help brighten the world
A little bit at a time.
Improving a day
For even one person
Makes the sun shine brighter
And lessens the load
